I now present you with the Allure of the Seas! This is the worlds largest cruise ship, owned and operated by Royal Caribbean International.

I remember the first time I went aboard the Allure of the Seas; today, I still struggle with words to clearly describe the grandeur of this ship.

So let me put it this way- if you are an avid cruiser whatever prior experiences you’ve had in cruising are exponentially multiplied the minute you step aboard the worlds largest cruise ship.

If you’ve never cruised before, the Allure of the Seas will awe you beyond your wildest imaginations! You simply must see it to believe it.

It is no secret that Royal Caribbean has consistently outperformed the competition in ship design and features and with the advent of its Oasis ship class, under which the Allure of the Seas was constructed, the cruise shipping world is forever transformed.

Here are some facts and features,

• The Allure of the seas was launched on November 20, 2010 and made its maiden voyage on December 1, that same year.
• Passenger capacity is 6300, taking into account all berths; crew is 2384

• The worlds largest cruise ship was built using the very latest in state-of-the-art technologies; and is in fact the most technologically advanced ship today.
• The Allure of the Seas carries 16 decks and 7 distinct neighborhoods, all designed to offer a plethora of experiences aboard; many of which are first at sea experiences.
• One of the many first at sea experiences featured on the Allure of the Seas is the DreamWorks Experience. Here you will get to meet and greet all the famous characters from Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda and lots more!
• From its permanent home at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; the Allure of the Seas currently sails to the Eastern and Western Caribbean offering 7-night round trip cruises.
• Several ports of call including Nassau, Bahamas; Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth, Jamaica; Cozumel, Mexico; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; and Philipsburg, St. Maarten are regularly visited.

The Royal Promenade : This area is the entrance way to the rest of the ship and so is the first sight that passengers are greeted with. An amazing indoor mall area, the Royal Promenade is lined with bars, restaurants such as Starbuck’s and various designer shops including Guess.

Entertainment Place : This area is located on deck 4, only a short walk from the Royal Promenade. A large casino, theaters and show lounges are the highlights here. Make sure you check out the Blue Planet performance featured at the Amber Theatre. It is what I call life time performances- a definite must see!

Central Park: This is perhaps the most quiet and romantic neighborhood aboard the world’s largest cruise ship. Located on deck 8, Central Park has a city like look and feel and is dotted with lush flowers and trees, ample sitting areas, wine bars and some of the most exclusive restaurants aboard the ship. Several cabins overlook the Central Park area.

The Boardwalk : Think theme park and envision the most striking carousel you’ve ever seen. This is the sight that greets you when you enter the Boardwalk, located on deck 6. There are 18 moving figures for the riders, and there are even stationary seats for those who don't want to sit astride. The Boardwalk also features a Johnny Rockets restaurant, the Aqua Theater, rock climbing walls, and several stateroom categories.

The Pool and Sports Zone : The world’s largest ship features several outdoor pools and lounge areas, designed for sun worshiping and relaxation. Located throughout decks 14 and 15, the Pool and Sports Zone also offers miniature golf, basketball, volleyball and a gorgeous adult solarium.

Vitality Spa and Fitness program : Like most other Royal Caribbean ships, this neighborhood aboard the Allure of the Seas is specifically designed to rejuvenate mind, body, and spirit. A wide array of beauty and wellness services are offered here. The spa features 29 treatment rooms including a ‘man cave.’ This is an area that provides treatments for men much the same as those that are offered for women. There is also a teen and kid spa.

Youth Zone : The Allure of the Seas Youth Zone is an extension of Royal Caribbean’s Adventure Ocean program and caters to children ages 6 months to 17 years. The program hosts an international staff whose core function is to develop and present age appropriate educational and fun activities for the over 300,000 children who sail the worlds largest cruise ship, annually. Royal Caribbean uses Fisher-Price toys in Adventure Ocean, and each age group has different types of toys and special play sessions. Special needs children are welcome at the Youth Zone; however Royal Caribbean does not provide any individualized care. Parents are welcome to stay with their children if they require them to have one-on-one care.
