Why Caribbean shore excursions? Well, gone are the days when cruises were ship centered. Shore excursions have now become a major part of cruise vacations and here in the Caribbean, there are plenty of fun-filled excursions for you to go on.

All major cruise liners offer their own assortment of shore excursion packages; which you can purchase along with your cruise. Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Holland America all offer great shore excursion packages.

These excursions are primarily group outings with transportation being provided both from and back to your cruise ship.

If you are adventurous like me, you may want to opt out of purchasing your Caribbean shore excursions from your cruise line.

Personally, I find it more fun to go off exploring on my own or with friends and sometimes it does cost me less as well. Below are actual pictures some of my own Caribbean shore excursions

It is perfectly OK to deal with your shore excursions on your own or if you prefer the company of a group then you may do so with your cruise line. Either way, as long as you are in the Caribbean, you’re bound to have fun!

Here is some key info to be aware of on your day out in the Caribbean:

  • The US$ is widely accepted throughout all Caribbean islands, although most islands also have their own currencies.

  • Transport is readily available at all cruise piers throughout the Caribbean and drivers will readily take you to your chosen destination for a cost. In the event your shore excursion is booked with your cruise line; they will handle your transportation to and back from your excursion.

  • Ensure that your clothing is light and breezy as the mid-day sun can become especially hot.

  • Be sure to have your camera on hand, you will be encountering lots of interesting photo opts.

Here now are some Caribbean shore excursions that you can check out on your Caribbean cruise.
